We are perfectly situated between Nelson and Golden Bay, the most convenient place to launch into the many and varied activities offered, from a 10 minute stroll from Rowan Cottage to “the Kumaras” a natural sandspit and ecological wonderland to a 10 to 15 minute drive up the Motueka Valley to a peaceful river setting for a picnic and swim.
Take a 15 to 20 minute drive to Mapua and a choice of estuary and seaside cafes and from there an afternoon of cruising around the many vineyards and wineries most offering tastings and food in the glorious setting of the rolling hills of Moutere.
You can’t leave the region without a glimpse of the numerous artists and craft work scattered around the area.
If its tramping or hiking your into then the Mount Arthur hike and into the tablelands is a must. Easy walking and excellent huts in both our National Parks make for a very pleasant outdoor experience. Kayaking and canoeing are an excellent way to see the Abel Tasman National Park with numerous companies offering a range of packages.
